In addition to off-road products, Warn Industries offers a complete line of hard-working electric and hydraulic winches and hoists for commercial, industrial, and severe-duty applications that help get the job done-whether on the back of a tow truck or on the front of a military vehicle. When it's time to get to work, Warn is the name to trust. Warn also has an inventive lineup of utility winches and hoisting equipment that lets both the professional and the do-it-yourselfer accomplish a range of tasks efficiently. From trailer loading and fence stretching, to engine hoisting and construction projects WARN products provide new answers to old questions and lets users get more done in less time. Warn Industries' History Started With Hubs Arthur and Sadie Warn started a Willys dealership in Southpark, Washington in the 1930s, then founded Warn Industries in 1948. This new company began with an idea for converting thousands of surplus World War II Jeeps into useful, on-road vehicles. Arthur's extraordinary invention had many patents, and his invention of locking wheel hubs would revolutionize the automotive industry. And while the business started with door-to-door sales in Seattle, it grew into a booming mail order business thanks to ads in the back of Popular Mechanics-Sadie's idea. Eventually, Arthur started working with Belleview Manufacturing in Portland, OR, and by 1954, WARN locking hubs were offered as optional factory equipment by major domestic automotive manufacturers. Hub sales grew exponentially in the 1960s-1970s, and over the years, WARN became an OE supplier of hubs to companies including Chrysler, Ford, GM, Kia, Nissan, SsangYong, and others. More than 70 years later, WARN hubs are still the most trusted brand in the off-road market today. The WARN Winch Revolution In 1959, with hub sales taking off, Warn Industries blazed another new trail, this time with the electric winch. Before electric winches, a vehicle would've had a power take-off winch (PTO), which required the engine to be running in order for the winch to work. But the WARN Winch was electric, and could operate even if the vehicle was stalled on a steep hill. The popularity of the electric winch quickly made Warn Industries the leading brand for off-road racers, avid four wheelers, weekend adventurers, and hard-working ranchers. In 1974, the iconic M8274 was introduced. This cemented Warn Industries as the name to choose in electric winches. Advancing the ATV Market With the growth of the ATV market in the 1980s, Warn Industries introduced the first dedicated powersports winch, which created an entirely new segment of products for the company. These winches allowed ATV owners the ability for self-recovery, and let riders push their vehicles to the limit without fear of getting stuck. More than three decades later, Warn continues to offer the most premium powersports products available today including a full line of winches, winching accessories, mounting systems, and an extensive plow lineup. Innovating in Industrial and Commercial Applications From the 30,000 lb. Series XL winches to the compact and portable Drill Winch, Warn Industries has consistently pushed the boundaries in industrial and commercial winching and hoisting applications. Whether the towing industry, the military, or in the hands of a do-it-yourselfer, the WARN name is synonymous with getting work done efficiently, reliably-and getting the job done right-whether pulling a car up a rollback trailer, moving heavy machinery onto a flatbed, or operating a boom on a tow truck. Our Facility Warn Industries has 180,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing, engineering, and office space in Clackamas, Oregon and employs over 350 workers. We have more than 100 patents and manufacture more than 600 products. These goods are sold all over the world and backed by our global service organization, complete with our in-house team of customer service experts, who have an average tenure of 14 years.
